I teach several classes, from beginning glass beadmaking to advanced sculptural techniques, at both The Artglass Fusing Center and Bluemoon Glassworks.  Or if you prefer, I also have private instruction (one-on-one) classes available. [See below for details.]


Group Classes 2008:


  • Multi-layered Encased Florals  - In this class we will cover both "flat" multi-Layered encasing techniques as well as dimensional "Spot" encasing techniques. We'll pull customized petal and leaf cane as well as green stone, talk about bottom-up construction, top-down design and cover various flower constructions to incorporate into your beads. When you put them all together you get a garden that is ever-changing depending upon your light source. The colors will shift and the shadows will dance and move as you rotate your beads.

      • Organic & Natural Beads  - In this class you will learn several different techniques for creating beautiful organic and earthy beads.  We will be combining  frits, enamels, metals and fuming, and using the chemical composition of the glass itself to create beads that look like granite, turquoise, fluorite, obsidian, moonstone, alabaster and pyrite, as well as many others.

      • Intermediate & Advanced Stringer Techniques - In this 2 day class you will take your stringer making to a new limit with approximately 20 different intermediate and advanced stringer designs including: Latticinos, Rainbow & Ribbon Canes, Japanese Twists, Bulls-Eye Cane, Striped Petal Canes, Advanced Flat Branch and Stem Canes, SIS and other Metal and Enamel Coated Canes and many more. We will cover both the making and the different applications of the various techniques.

      • Advanced Hollow Bead Techniques - Come learn the fascinating lampwork techniques used to create real-life figurines  and beautiful perfume bottles. In this class you will learn secretes behind creating beautiful pieces of art using the hollow bead as your base.  Additionally you will learn the beginning techniques behind working with Borosilicate (Pyrex) glass to make beautiful stands to display your creations.

      Private Classes:


      These classes are available for 1 or 2 people and are taught in the privacy of my home, and my time is dedicated soley to you. Please email me if you have any questions.


      • Beginning Glass Bead Making - This is where it all begins...  come learn the fine art of manipulating molten glass to create beautiful pieces of wearable art. You will have a wonderful time in this class, learning about all the properties that make hot glass one of the most fascinating art medium today. We will show you all the techniques used to create round beads, barrels, and bicones. You will learn numerous ways to enhance and decorate your beads with strings, silver foil, and various tooling techniques.

      • Intermediate Glass Bead Making - In this class you will take your beginning bead making skills to the next level by making your own stringers, including silver-encased stringers, filagrana and twisties.  You will also be working enamels and etching acids along with Silver, Copper and Gold leaf to obtain some beautiful effects in your beads. Additionally you will learn the tooling techniques used to create Venetian Glass beads, Earth Element beads, and Plunged florals.

      • Private Instruction - Private one-on-one classes are available to fit your schedule. These classes are held in the privacy of my home and can be at any level you desire (begining to advanced). You also have your choice of hot-head torches or minor torches, or both. Class prices are as follows: One Day (8 hrs) $299, Two Days (16 hrs) $499.
